Covid19 disrupted my wedding plans!

by - May 19, 2020

It's been a crazy few months here.
It first started off in January when it was Chinese New Year, everyone was happy and excited for the festive season to be here. Z and I went alcohol shopping to buy our liquor stock for the wedding, upcoming in March. We got ALL the liquor that we had listed out, our office is so full from the bottles that we have 0 space left. With less than 2 months to go, we had almost everything ticked off our check list.

We've sent out the wedding invitation cards, went for food tasting at the hotel, booked our PG/VG/MUA, even went for makeup hair trial, bought all the liquor for the open bar, received our pws photo frames and albums, bought our wedding gowns/suits, decorations were all arriving. Everything was set to go....

Unfortunately, Covid-19 had to pay a visit.

So yes, we postponed our wedding to October 2020 but we're looking at possibly postponing it even further to 2021. The laws had been set to restrict all social gatherings, not to mention wedding parties where attendees could amount to 200 or more. We had guests flying in from overseas, and with the travel ban in place, none of them could fly in either. So the postponement of our wedding began. And the big question still remains; when will we be able to hold our wedding? Will things go back to norm eventually? How soon will that be? What if things still remain gloomy until the end of this year?
That is still a question mark for us, till today.

Fast forward 4 months down the road, it's May right now and we're in the midst of our 2nd month in "lock down" or what SG calls #CircuitBreaker. Everyone's been cooped up at home, unable to head into office for work, unable to visit family members/friends. This circuit breaker has been inconvenient, but it has certainly curbed the numbers of cross-infection down in the country. There's lesser spread in the community, definitely looking better than before. I bet everyone is looking forward to 1 June when the circuit breaker ends and everyone can head out again.

So the best year of my life just became the gloomiest year of my life. hurhur. What a joke life can be!

Looking on the bright side, i'm staying home a lot more (well, it's the one and only thing i'm allowed to do right now), doing more home workout exercises and cooking/baking for the family. I think I've honed my skills to be a great housewife in the future. haha! And i've definitely shed a few kilos and lost a couple of inches here and there, which is AWESOME!! Can't wait for life to be back to normal soon!

Meanwhile, let's all spare some thoughts and appreciation for our Frontliners who have been working relentlessly during this difficult period to cater to our needs, caring for the sick and unwell, working day and night to help make this period a little more bearable.
T-H-A-N-K  Y-O-U !!

Chye
